How can I access information from Harrisburg city directories? I am interested in the years between 1900 and 1907. My grandfather appears on the 1900 Pa. census as living in Hbg. He died in 1907 but I can't find his death record and am hoping these directories will help me ascertain if he was living in Hbg. during those years. His name was Luke Thomas Vanaman and his surname sometimes appears as Vannaman.

I am trying to find information about my great great grandfather John Huling from Dauphin County in the mid 1800s. Any record of him or his parents?
He was the father of my great grandfather William H. Huling who was born in 1858 and died in 1943 (Williamsport area). John was not with William or Sara as early as 1860. William's mother was Sara Bailey. We know she later married a Samuel Bailey in 1878.

I am interested in locating the death of a Mary C. Vaughan widow of Thomas Vaughan. In 1890 Mary lived at 207 S Front Street, Steelton, PA. In 1900 she was 60 years old and living at 348 Second Street, Steelton, PA. She probably died within the next 15 years in this area.
Where would I look to find a death index for this time period so that I may obtain her death certificate?
I just found this site and I'm not sure how it works or what information you can provide. Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.

It is my understanding that Birth and Death Certificates are available at Pennsylvania Vital Records in New Castle for those records between 1906 and now. Any older documents are available at the Courthouse in Harrisburg. Is this correct?
Or is there a place in Harrisburg to obtain all these documents (while I wait)pertaining to events in Dauphin County.
Thank you!
