Both marriages were performed by an M.P.Hocker My g-grandfather and g-grandmother were supposed to have met at a small residential hotel in Steelton - owned and run by my g-grandmother's family. The ' hotel ' catered to railroad workers; my g-grandmother helped there with the serving and cooking of meals. The building was later destroyed in a fire.I believe my g-grandother was very active in a Methodist church in Steelton Any information -no matter how small - would be most appreciated.

My question concerns my 3rd Great Grandfather James Caldwell b. 1753 d. 1836 in Beaver County. Was John's son James and my Grandfather one and the same man. I am searching for any info on the Alexander Campbell family. Alexander was in the 1880 census, Middletown, Pa. His wife was Sophia (maiden name ?) They 4 children, Catherine, John, Mary and Clarence. Mary married Ervin Beinhauer and had lived in Steelton, Pa. I have Alexander 's parents living in Harrisburg in the 1850 and 1860 census, Father was James and mother, Ellen. I believe Alexander and his wife and daughter Mary to have been burried in a Middletown Cemetery. I would be interested to learn the maiden name of Sophia Campbell and date of death of either one. They lived by the Bauer family in Middletown, Pa.

I'm looking for any information on Abram Pratts, born in Harrisburg, Pa. in 1831. He later moved to Peoria, Illinois, married Mary Adams and fought with the 86th Ill. Infantry during the Civil War. After the war he moved to Hooper, Nebraska where he died in 1914. Sometime during or right after the Civil War he changed his name to Abraham Bretz. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
