Church and SWATARA Church. Daniel SHUEY may have been one of the
founders of the church. I know they came to the area in 1732. In 1917 W. H. HUNSICKER
told D. B. SHUEY that the original SHUEYS owned his farm of 216 acres, the Adam HEILMAN
farm of 223 acres, and the WALBORN farm of 210 acres. Could you

occupation listed as a cooper. In 1900 he, my g-granmdmother and their children lived at
25 N. 3rd Street in Steelton, Pa. They had four children: [ my grandfather] Joseph Richard
b. Oct 1873 Mary b. May 1875 Isabelle b. May 1881 Betram b. Feb. 1894 Mary was married in
1896 in Steelton, Pa. and Isabelle was married 1904 in Steelton,Pa. Both marriages were
performed by an M.P.Hocker My g-grandfather and g-grandmother were
supposed to have met at a small residential hotel in Steelton - owned and run by my
g-grandmother's family. The ' hotel ' catered to railroad workers; my g-grandmother helped
there with the serving and cooking of meals. The building was later destroyed in a fire.I
believe my g-grandother was very active in a Methodist church in Steelton Any information
-no matter how small - would be most appreciated. |
