I'm researching the ETTER family of Dauphin County,
PA. I can't get any farther back than an Abraham ETTER, who was born about
1788. I don't have a death date for him. He was married to a Catehrine (?), who
was also born in or around 1788. They had at least one child (that's all I've
found) by the name of Jacob Etter, who was born in Dauphin Co. on December 31,
1820. His wife, Elizabeth WALTERS, was also born in Dauphin Co. in 1820, and
died in 1853. Jacob and Elizabeth had a son, Philip Walters ETTER, who was born
August 4, 1844 in Derry Twp., Dauphin Co. He married a Lizzie B. Hollinger. If
anyone has any info that may help me, I would deeply appreciate it. Of course

Dear Ms. Keating, FLECK-GARVERICK DAUPHIN CO, HARRISBURG,
SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP My name is Susan Shanley and am trying to find information
on my gggrandparents, John Fleck and Elizabeth Garverick. They were married in
Harrisburg in the New Salem Reform Church by a Rev. Philip Gloninger on April 19
(or 11) 1811. The 1830 census shows him as a residence of Susquehanna Township.
According to Elizabeth's claim for War of 1812 bounty lands, John served in
Capt. Richard Crain's regiment of the PA militia from Aug 31 1814 until Dec 5
1814 during the War of 1812. These records show that he died on Dec 8, 1831. We
know that they had one child, Charles Fleck but do not know if there were other
children. Our problem is that we can find nothing concerning the identity of
parents of these two or where they might have been born. From the bounty records
we calculate that Elizabeth was born in either 1796 or 97, but have no idea when
John was born. We are guessing that He must have been born between 1780 and the
mid 90's. We have come so far with this just to hit a brick wall. We are hoping
to at least find the original Fleck that came from Germany. Anything you could
find would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,

KISSINGER/KLINGER I'm looking for entries in Ship Lists for
Kissingers and Klingers who emigrated from Germany in I believe the mid 1700s,
but have no dates. I have traced my GGGrandparents, Daniel & Catharina
KISSINGER & Georg and Sara KLINGER to Lykens Twp., Dauphin Co. via a fractur
"Geburts und Tauf-Schein" for my GGrandfather, Elias KISSINGER,who was
born 6/21/1840 in "Lykens taunschip, Dauphin Caunty. He was baptized by
Hrn. J.F. Stiely 8/13/1840. The baptismal witnesses were: Elias KLINGER and his
wife Sara. My mother, Clara KISSINGER Wetherbee, has told me that her father,
Charles Lorenzo KISSINGER, often told her that his grandfather, Daniel
KISSINGER, was born in this country, but I have no information on Daniel's
parents. I would appreciate any information on this line, especially possible
arrival dates in America (Chester?) Charles Wetherbee Schein" for my
GGrandfather, Elias KISSINGER.
