NSSAR site pages contain material of national
interest and related to SAR programs. They have a URL which starts with
http://www.sar.org/ and their links have a "starball" icon next to them. These
pages are posted on a site under the control of the national SAR Web-site team. They
should conform to the NSSAR Web site guidelines for format and tone.
SAR state society pages and chapter pages
generally contain material pertaining to the geographic area of the society or chapter.
They have a URL which may or may not start with http://www.sar.org/ and their links have a
"rosette" icon next to them. They are often on sites that are not under the
control of the national SAR Web-site team, and they may or may not conform to the NSSAR
Web site guidelines for format and tone.
Government agency pages often have .gov as part
of the URL and have an "amerflag" icon next to them. They are (obviously) not
part of the NSSAR Web site.
External nongovernmental pages have a URL which
does NOT start with http://www.sar.org/ and links to these pages have an "Ext"
icon next to them. They are not part of the NSSAR Web site and are not under the control
of the national SAR Web-site team.
