FISHER, John L., farmer, Steelton, Pa., was born in Berks county, Pa., April 27, 1845; son of William and Catherine (Levan) Fisher. The father came to Dauphin county, in 1848, and located in Swatara township, where he engaged in farming. His present residence is near Linglestown. John L. was reared in Swatara township, and was educated in the public schools and at the Millersville State Normal School. He became a farmer and has always followed that occupation. Mr. Fisher was married, December 22, 1889, to Miss Mary Linebaugh, daughter of Edward and Salina (Macklin) Linebaugh, of York county, by whom he has one child, William Henry. He located near Linglestown, and in 1890 came to his present farm in Lower Swatara township. In politics Mr. Fisher is a Democrat. The family attend the United Brethren church.
