JENNINGS, William, president of the Harrisburg Steam Heat and Power Company, was born in this city, August 18, 1868, and is a son of Col. William W. and Emily Jane (Vanhorn) Jennings. He was educated in the public schools of Harrisburg and at Lehigh University. After completing his education he was employed as a moulder and machinist for one year. In 1889 he was appointed secretary and treasurer of the Harrisburg Steam Heat and Power Company, and in May, 1894, was made president of the same, and has been instrumental in bringing this industry into a prosperous condition.

Mr. Jennings was married, October 13, 1892, to J. Belle West, daughter of Rev. William A. and Jennie West. They have one child, Dorothy. He is a member of Robert Burns Lodge, No. 464, F. & A. M. He is a Republican in politics, and with his wife attends the Presbyterian church.
