The 3rd project has now been scheduled. We will be transcribing a card file of
the Willow Grove Cemetery, In Linglestown, PA. Karl J. Fox, the author of
Cemeteries of
Dauphin County PA - 2000 , has graciously donated a box with around a
thousand transcriptions in it.
This project will be a bit different than the others. The
differences are:
 |
Transcribers will need to return the index cards when the
transcription is complete. |
 |
The data entry will be done in a computer program supplied by
The Dauphin County Transcription Project. |
 |
The data will be submitted using that program, no word
processors or special formatting will be required. |
Since the program will create a data file that will be sent via
email, I am requesting volunteers for this particular project be fairly computer
literate to keep support time down. The program will be made available to the
transcribers shortly, and will be used in the future to transcribe other
cemeteries and churches (namely Wenrich's Church in Linglestown). Check back her
for updates!
